Words of the wise: If a goat isn’t eating or sleeping, it’s bored!

Sometimes toys for goats aren’t always what you think of when you think of ‘toys’. When I think of toys for goats I think more of what will keep them busy & what will spike their curiosity more than trying to escape.
It is also easier to come up with toys for kids because they are so curious and love to jump and climb around, and love to play with each other so it is easy to keep them occupied with toys.
Adults are harder to keep occupied with toys because, well I think just like humans adults don’t really like toys, either that or my goats are just boring…
Things To Keep Them Occupied

Salt blocks / Mineral licks
Teeter totter
Tire stack
Playground

Platforms
Swings
Tire rockers
Concrete blocks
Stone pathway
Bushes

We have, what I call a tire climber stack, this is just a stack of old tires that we filled with wood ash from the fire pit, wood shavings, straw, old bedding, sand, & small sticks. You can really use anything to fill these tires that is friendly for the goats. I also will sprinkle some Diatomaceous Earth through the tires every once in a while to cut down on bugs that could find a home in there. Our chickens will also use some of the ties as their dust baths.
We’re working on more options for them with “toys” especially in the winter because they can’t graze as much so they aren’t as content.
