How long do they live?
12-15 years

Goats are great companion animals!
They are known to have a calming affect on horses and are usually penned with horses, chickens, or sheep as a protector animal. 

Goats do not like the rain!
They will usually seek some sort of shelter when it is raining, sleeting, snowing, hailing, etc.

Goats are very intelligent!
They are escape artists and will watch your every move!

Why do they say bucks stink?
Bucks will pee on themselves and when they are in rut the stench gets worse. 

​Fainting goats don’t actually faint…
They have a muscle disorder called Myotonic, which causes their muscles to get really stiff when they get scared and they fall over. They don’t lose consciousness. They should recover in a couple seconds. This gene rarely ever transfers to a baby goat if you breed the myotonic goat with another breed. 

What makes a goat a good show animal: 
Boer goats are great show goats, they are friendly, super smart, good with kids, and a generally docile breed. Your goat has to be dissuaded or dehorned in order to show!

What is a baby goat called? 
A kid…or multiple kids. Goats usually have twins!

Did you know goats founded coffee? 
If you love coffee you can thank goats! A goat herder once was wondering why his goats were so hyper after eating a certain plant…it was a coffee bean plant! 

How many teeth do goats have? 
They have a full set of teeth on the bottom, but they don’t have any teeth on the top!

Their pupils are shaped like rectangle which allows them to have a 260 degree peripheral vision, so nothing can sneak up on them!

Goats are herd animals! 
You can’t just have 1 or 2 goats, you need at least 3 at a time. They help protect each other and keep each other warm in the winter.
