Natural Sweetened Banana Bread

Naner Bread!

I don’t know about your household but we LOVE banana bread! It’s a great breakfast item, a great snack for the middle of the day or to pack in lunches, and a great bedtime snack or dessert!

Since we eat it so much I was on a mission to make it a little healthier and with less sugar for the kiddos!

This recipe makes 3 loaves!    1 to eat now, 1 to put in the fridge and eat throughout the week, and 1 to freeze! OR make them all different flavors and eat them all throughout the week!

What You’ll Need

Ingredients:
6 Bananas, Mashed
1 1/2 Cups Maple Syrup
2 Sticks Butter, melted OR 1 Cup Vegetable Oil
2 Cups Milk
4 Eggs
2 Tsp Vanilla
6 Cups Flour
2 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tsp Salt
2 Cups Chopped Nuts, optional
2 Cups Chocolate Chips, optional

How To Make It

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl mash the bananas.
  2. Then add in the maple syrup, butter, milk, eggs, & vanilla.
  3. Once that is all completely combined mix in the baking soda, salt, and flour.
  4. If you want nuts or chocolate chips, add these in and mix until completely combined.
  5. Pour into a loaf pan and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.

I have used the butter & oil in place of each other several times, the butter adds a more rich flavor but sometimes I just don’t have any butter sticks on hand so we just use oil, it’s ok!

When your bread is done, it should look like the picture above- golden brown all around and when you press your finger in the center it should be bouncy!
You can also shake the pan a little and if the center jiggles, it’s not done!

As soon as they come out of the oven, lay a towel out on the counter and turn your loaf pan upside down and they should fall right out, then flip the bread back right side up and let them cool!
This bread is dense so give it just a couple minutes before you cut into it, and when you do cut into it let it cool, especially before letting your kiddos bite into it!
