What Toys To Get Your Dogs

There are sooooooo many dog toys to choose from! I don’t just mean a lot, I mean ALOT!

But thats a good thing that there are so many options, as there are so many different toys for a reason.

Just like there are so many different dog breeds and food types for each breed, there are toy types for each breed also!

A great “keep-me-busy” toy for all dogs is a puzzle toy!
These puzzle toys come in all shapes and sizes and are a great way to keep your pup entertained while giving them food.

Dogs need toys, especially when they are stuck at home everyday while you’re working.
They shouldn’t just lay around for 8+ hours a day…just like humans need to get up and move and go to the bathroom, etc.

For some breeds you have to shop very strategically… we have a pit/lab mix and he tears EVERYTHING up!
Luckily just things we give him now, we got out of the “I’m a puppy and I chew on everything” stage. But when he gets a toy he goes to town and the thing is destroyed in minutes!

So when I go to the store I try to shop for toys that are mainly for aggressive chewers and that look and feel super durable!

We will stick on the subject of aggressive chewers for just a bit longer since these dogs are the most difficult to buy toys for…

Stay away from stuffing filled toys, even if it was only $5, that’s $5 that is now down the drain in 2.5 seconds because your aggressive chewer just chewed it up.

Toys we get for our 3 aggressive chewers:
Benebone Wishbone
Jolly Ball
TireBiters
Ropes

The only thing I have to watch out for is when the ropes start to unravel and come apart. Make sure to grab these pieces before your dog decides to eat them. These little pieces of string can cause a lot of intestinal issues.
My dogs love the ropes though, so I just do a quick sweep and were back to playing!
