Figs are one of my new found favorite fruits and let me tell you why! They are naturally sweet (the most important thing) & they are good for brain health, gut health, heart health, & metabolic health!
This superfood is packed full of vitamins, minerals, & antioxidants! They are a great source of calcium, potassium, fiber, & magnesium, & iron! So they are great for kids, women (pregnant or not), & men who can’t stay away from the candy jar!
These breakfast bars are packed full of nutrition from the figs but also give you the sweet and savory taste of a store bought bar!

Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 350.
Filling
- In a small pot add in the figs, water, and lemon juice. Turn on low/medium heat and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes.
- Once the figs are soft and mushy pour it into a food processor and add in the maple syrup. Turn the food processor on low until the mixture is smooth.

Crust & Topping
- In a food processor add in the oats, brown sugar, vanilla, and butter.

- Turn the food processor on low until the mixture is completely combined and forms almost a dough.
- In a greased 8×8 pan pour in 3/4 of the crust mixture (yes, save 1/4 of it for the topping). Use a spatula to flatten it down into the pan and slightly on the edges.
- Pour in the filling over top of the crust and spread it evenly. Use the rest of the crust mixture to sprinkle over the top.
- Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Once they are done let them cool, then cut them into whatever shape you want! Enjoy!
